ADHD Doesn't Change Anything

Hi, my name is Amber and I'm12 years old. When I first found out that I had ADHD, I didn't know what to think. At first I was scared. No one told me what it was.

I just stared junior high. I was scared about that because I had to tell all of my teacher's that I had ADHD. I thought they wouldn't understand what it was. If my friends found out that I had ADHD I thought they wouldn't be my friends anymore.

When I told one of my teachers that I had ADHD, he was surprised. Then I told some of my friends. Some of them have it too. I couldn't believe that they had ADHD too. When I started taking my pills I didn't know what to think. When you're taking the pills for ADHD they told me that I couldn't have Mountain Dew. When they told me that I was mad, because then I thought that the doctor wouldn't let me watch my favorite TV show ‘Whose Line is it Anyway'.

Sometimes my pills don't work on me. When they don't work you don't want to be around me. In fact just last week my mom had to call my teacher and tell him what was going on. The one thing I like about my teacher is that he knows that when I'm in a bad mood he knows, because I will not smile, and I will get mad at everyone. He always cheers me up though by picking on me. Now that I know I'm not the only one with ADHD, it makes me fell better. I just want to thank my friends, my teacher and everybody else.
